Andy Winward, born on November 3, 1989, in Middlesbrough, England, is a British filmmaker recognized for his contributions to short films, particularly in the horror and comedy genres. He began his filmmaking journey in 2011 as a self-taught artist and later pursued formal education in 2021, enrolling in the BA (Hons) Film and Television Production program at Teesside University. He graduated in 2024 with First Class Honours. Throughout his career, Winward has been involved in various projects, both personal and collaborative. He has worked on external projects for organizations such as Autism Matters and Paul Suggitt. For his personal endeavors, he operates under the banner of Winward Studios. His notable works include The Devil’s Symphony (2024) and Death is Only the Beginning (2024), both of which have garnered critical acclaim. At a recent film festival, The Devil’s Symphony won Best Student Film, while Death is Only the Beginning received awards for Best Comedy Film and Best Screenplay. In recognition of his talent and potential, Winward was awarded the Franc Roddam Production Bursary, which contributed to the funding of his final major project at university.
