Biography

Alex de Souza is a student of Social Communication - Audiovisual at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte and holds a Technical Degree in Multimedia from the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Norte. He directed the documentary “Todo Amor Que Houver Nessa Vida” (All the Love That Exists in This Life) for the production company Ardor and the documentary “O Que (Não) Me Define” (What Doesn't Define Me). He worked on the fictional short film “Para Sempre é Muito Tempo, Adeus é Curto Demais…” (Forever is Too Long, Goodbye is Too Short…) as director of photography and lighting, sound designer, editor, and film editor. He worked as a storyboard artist and director of photography, set designer, editor, and sound designer on the stop-motion animation “IMO,” which was screened at the “Matinê Animada” section of the ANIMAÍ 2025 Festival and other festivals around Brazil. He was also the screenwriter, editor, and film editor of the documentary “Café Quente: Dona Ângela” (Hot Coffee: Dona Ângela). He seeks to make films that evoke what is human, constructing narratives of sensitivity and intimacy.
