Biography
Alexander Hogg began his career at the age of eleven, appearing as Craig in Brassed Off at The Wolverhampton Grand Theatre alongside Hi-De-Hi! Star Jeffrey Holland. He then starred in the world premiere UK tour of Debbie Isitt’s Nativity! The Musical, originating the roles of Ollie, Child Gordon Shakespeare and the Oakmoor pupil Rupert in 2017. Alex went on to appear in Nativity! a further two times, once again touring across the UK, in 2018 and 2019 as well as spending the festive period at London’s Eventim Apollo. Alex’s further stage work includes appearing in two productions of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat (Kilworth House Theatre, Birmingham Hippodrome) and Amanda Whittington’s Ladies’ Day (Wolverhampton Grand). Alex’s screen acting debut came with the release of the 2018 Christmas film Nativity Rocks! (the fourth feature in the hit Nativity! series) in which he was a featured member of the St Bernadette’s class. Alex’s other screen appearances include Sam & Mark’s Big Christmas Wind-Up (CBBC); Cricket Umpire in Lidl’s Big On British & Big On A British Summer Commercial Campaigns (Outsider TV for Lidl UK); Bullied Boy in AXA Insurance’s #KnowYouCan Commercial (Iconoclast, Paris / Cartel). Released throughout March 2026, Alex made his debut as a writer and composer with For King and Country a four-part original scripted comedy-drama podcast series. As well as creating the series, Alex also voiced the character of Barney. After it's... initial success, the series received a radio broadcast in July. On 12 April 2026, KIT an impactful short film by Lottie Amor, premiered at Cleveland International Film Festival. Produced by Academy Award-Winning Slick Films, Alex features as Lackey in the film. Later that same year, Alex starred alongside the influential cloud rap artist Yung Lean in his music video for STORM I & II. A collaboration with producer Surkin and director Romain Gavras, the video formed part of the wider GENER8ION project. STORM soon became a viral sensation reaching more than 13 million views in one month. Over the Summer, STORM featured in GENER8ION: VISIONS OF 2034 - an immersive multi-media exhibition at London's 180 Studios. Alex also sings on the Nativity Rocks! Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Mirrorball Films / Nativity! Ltd) and the Nativity! The Musical Original Cast Recording (Nativity! Theatre Ltd). Alex trained in the art of acting for camera under the direction of the Academy Award-winning actress and writer Rachel Shenton at The Midlands Screen Acting School before going on to train full-time in musical theatre at The University of Chichester Conservatoire (2024 – 2027) gaining a BA (Hons) Musical Theatre (Triple Threat).
